When it comes to employment, people with disabilities want the same things as everyone else — a job in their community that provides a competitive wage, satisfying work and fulfilling friendships. Everyone should have the opportunity to be part of the work force.
Employing someone from Via means more than just workforce diversification – the partnerships Via establishes in the business community have a positive impact on the way the public perceives people with disabilities.
Via focuses on a person’s abilities and provides the supports necessary for success. We offer several types of employment services that meet different needs and expectations, and we excel at both creating innovative employment solutions for job seekers and matching those solutions with business needs.
Via helps people with disabilities find jobs in the community, and offers them the coaching and support necessary to succeed. Ideal for people motivated to work for wages in competitive, integrated employment, this service focuses on person-centered career planning and helps them move into the workforce. Via’s Employment Services are funded by the PA Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, Source America and the PA Department of Human Services.
This innovative, paid, work-based learning experience is for high school students with disabilities in Lehigh, Northampton, Carbon and Monroe counties, funded by the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation. Via supports students as they prepare for competitive employment – while getting real-life, on-the-job training and getting paid for their work.
Via works with students, in partnership with their school districts and the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, to create a personalized employment plan and explore careers of interest. Pre-Employment Transition Services are also available under this service, funded through the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation.
ViaWorks helps people with disabilities enter the work force, be a part of the community, and earn a paycheck. ViaWorks teams work onsite at local companies and provide contract services for Lehigh Valley employers. This service is for people focused on getting a job and interested in learning new skills in a supportive, hands-on environment.
The Via Business & Industrial Services Workshop provides hands-on vocational training, and helps individuals gain skills and confidence. Via offers a safe and productive environment where individuals work on a variety of projects, improve independence and enhance work skills.
