Via All-Star Teams – 8 teams, 12 players per team.  The Via All-Star media selection panel is made up of one representative from the Via All-Star Basketball Classic committee and invited representatives from the local media.  They select the following:

  • Via All-Star Player of the Year – 1 girl, 1 boy
  • Via All-Star Teams of the Year – 6 girls, 6 boys

Via All-Star Player Selection Criteria

All selected players must be seniors in good standing with their respective teams and their respective leagues.  The selection committee is asked to determine, to the best of their ability, the best overall players to represent the designated teams based on the player’s performance in the regular season of play.  The selection committee may wish to have representation from all schools in the brackets or they may not.

Via All-Star Teams of the Year

The selection committee is asked to determine the best 5 boys and best 5 girls, to be recognized as the Via Teams of the Year based on their play in the regular season.  The selection process will not be determined by school size or location, but must be from the list of the participating schools.

Via All-Star Players of the Year

The selection committee is asked to determine the single best female and single best male players from the list of schools participating in the event, regardless of school size or location.  The determination is based on regular season performance, and all nominated players are eligible.

Via Scholarship Awards

The scholarship award recipients are determined by the Via All-Star Committee.

How to get involved

To comply with Governor Wolf’s mandate that non-essential businesses be closed and with guidance from the PA Office of Developmental Programs (ODP), that funds many of our programs, Small Group Employment, many Community Employment Services, Creative Expressions Adult Training Facility and Prevocational Workshop are closed for participants until the mandate is lifted.

However, ODP has determined that home and community-based services are considered life-sustaining and are exempt from the Governor’s directive asking for the closure of all non-essential businesses.  Therefore, Via will provide limited Community Participation supports, In-Home services and Behavioral Support services.  As we learn more from ODP, coordinators will reach out to participants about services that are available.  We are reaching out to Via staff now to determine who can provide these services.

Coordinators are working remotely and are available by email or phone to answer your questions.  Please contact your coordinator by email or phone if you need anything or email
