Whitehall High School Boys Basketball
4A State Champs – Marking the last time a Lehigh Valley boys’ high school basketball team won a PIAA title in the highest classification. Whitehall’s win gave the Lehigh Valley its first boys’ state championship since Fountain Hill’s back-to-back crowns in 1956 and 1957.
Team accomplishments and records for the 1982 season:
- 35 wins, 2 loses – 21 consecutive wins
- PIAA State Champions AAA (the largest classification at the time)
- District XI Champions
- East Penn Conference Champions
- Reading Christmas Tournament Champions
- Scott Coval was named first team All-State
- Glenn Noack was named All- State Honorable Mention
Over two years, the Whitehall HS Boys team had 68 wins and 4 loses with two district championships and two consecutive EPC championships.
