Directions Along the Relay Route from Leg to Leg
Directions to Each Individual Exchange
Directions to the Start (9th & Hamilton Streets)
- From Route 22, take the 7th Street exit. You will be heading south toward Center City and the one city skyscraper.
- Follow 7th Street for about two miles to Linden Street. A Seven-Eleven is on the corner.
- Turn right at Linden Street, a one-way street heading west. Stay in the left lane.
- Go through one traffic light (8th Street), ½ between 8th & 9th street, turn left into Linden Street Parking Garage (formerly Hess’ Parking Garage).
- After parking, exit parking garage via elevators or stairs to ground floor, exiting onto 9th Street.
- Turn left, and walk one block to stop light at corner of 9th and Hamilton where race begins.
From the North
- Follow the PA Turnpike Northeast Extension South to Allentown Exit
- Take Route 22 East
- Follow above Directions to the Start
From the South
- Follow the PA Turnpike Northeast Extension North to Allentown Exit
- Take Route 22 East

- Take Route US-22 West towards Allentown

Leg 1 - 6.1 miles PDF map
From Start (9th & Hamilton, Allentown) to Exchange #1 (SandIsland, Bethlehem)
- Go south on 9th Street one block and turn left on Walnut Street.
- Turn left on 4th Street then right on Hamilton Street.
- After you cross the Lehigh River, turn right at the 2nd stop light on South Carlisle Street.
- Bear left at the end of Carlisle Street on River Drive (railroad yard will be on the right).
- River Drive turns into Central Boulevard. At the T, make a right on West Market Street.
- Right turn on 13th Avenue, then left on West Lehigh Street.
- Sand Island is off to the right just after you go under the large concrete bridge.

Exchange #1 (SandIsland, Bethlehem) to Exchange #2 (Lockhouse Road, FreemansburgCanalPark)
- Head east on Lehigh Street.
- Lehigh Street turns in to Center Street.
- Make a right hand turn on East Market Street.
- Follow Market Street until it dead ends on Main Street in Freemansburg.
- Left hand turn on Main Street.
- Just before the concrete bridge, make a right hand turn onto Lock House Road. Exchange point is straight ahead.

Exchange #2 (Lockhouse Road, FreemansburgCanalPark) to Exchange #3 (ChetwynPark, BethlehemTownship)
- Head east on Main Street. Turn right on Freemansburg Avenue.
- Stay on Freemansburg Avenue heading East for approximately 4 miles.
- Turn left onto Sheridan Street (its 1.1 miles from the Rt. 33 exchange).
- Travel .4 mile on Sheridan Street to Bayard Street and make a left onto Bayard Street.
- Travel .1 mile on Bayard Street to Hodle Street and make a left onto Hodle Street.
- At the first stop sign, make a left to the park.

Exchange #3 (ChetwynPark, BethlehemTownship) to Exchange #4 (HughMoorePark, Easton)
- Out of Chetwyn Park make a right onto Hodle Street.
- Make a right onto Bayard Street.
- Make a right onto Sheridan Street.
- Take Sheridan Street to Freemansburg Avenue.
- Make a left onto Freemansburg Avenue.
- Stay on Freemansburg Avenue for approximately 4 miles. Make a right-hand turn onto 25th Street.
- Just before the bridge over the Lehigh River, make a right-hand turn onto Lehigh Drive.
- Take Lehigh Drive to old steel bridge (there is a sign for the park there).
- Make a right-hand turn into Hugh Moore Park
Leg 5 - 4.9 miles PDF map
Exchange #4 (HughMoorePark, Easton) to Finish (RiversidePark, Easton)
- Coming out of Hugh Moore Park, make right hand turn on Main Street.
- Take the first right hand turn on 25th Street.
- At the end of the bridge, make a left hand turn this will be come Lehigh Drive.
- Follow Lehigh Drive to downtown Easton.
- Make a right-hand turn onto Larry Holmes Drive.
- Follow Larry Holmes Drive across Northampton Street. The amphitheater is one block past Northampton Street on the right (there are two parking lots on the left).
Directions to Each Individual Exchange
Exchange #1 (Sand Island, Bethlehem)
- From Route 22 to 378 South – Take Center City exit
- Turn left at stop sign – continue to the stoplight. Turn left at stoplight onto Broad Street.
- Continue down the hill to the next stoplight, stay in right lane, and turn right at stoplight onto Main Street. Follow Main Street through town, staying in right lane, and bear to the right down hill past Moravian College. Turn left at the first street onto Main Street. Go straight ahead through intersection.
- Park in the lot on the right (across from Main Street Depot Restaurant).
- Follow walking signs to the race leg check point (.2 miles over footbridge behind the Ice House).
- From I-78 to Rt. 412 Hellertown/Bethlehem Exit follow 412, turning left at the “Y” (also known as Daly Ave.), which will become 3rd Street.
- Continue on 3rd Street through several traffic lights, past the Minsi Trail Bridge, past the old Bethlehem Steel. Turn right onto New Street (at Fahey Bridge; 3rd Street Chicken & Ribs will be on your left.)
- After the bridge, turn left onto Lehigh Street, go down hill. Turn left onto Main Street at the Main Street Depot. Park in the lot on the right (across from Main Street Depot Restaurant.)
- Follow walking signs to the race leg check point (.2 miles over footbridge behind the Ice House).
Exchange #2 (Lockhouse Road, Freemansburg Canal Park)
- Route 22 to Exit 512 South – Turn left at off ramp, and follow 512 towards Center City.
- Go about 2 miles then turn left at stoplight onto Elizabeth Avenue.
- At next stoplight, turn right onto Linden Street (by Liberty High School).
- Turn left onto East Geopp Street, and then bear left at “Y” onto Pembroke Road.
- Follow Pembroke Road and look for a large sign on your right that reads "Bargain Center."
- Just past this sign, bear right at the "Y" (at the Truck Lettering store) onto Washington Street.
- This roads leads to Freemansburg. Follow Washington Street to Main Street in Freemansburg and turn left onto Main Street. Race leg checkpoint is located on the right side of Main Street just beyond the Willow Grove Hotel. The runner’s road is before the bridge on the right.
- You may park on the street in the surrounding area or in the Hotel's parking lot.
Exchange #3 (Chetwyn Park, Bethlehem Township)
- Route 22 to Route 33/I-78 South. Go .5 miles to exit for William Penn Highway.
- At stoplight, turn left onto William Penn Highway. Go about 1 mile, and turn right on Sheridan Ave. (at Friendly Food Mart).
- Go 2 blocks, and just past Bayard Street you’ll turn left into driveway of Industrial Building.
- Park in the Industrial Building parking lot (in rear.)
- Walk to the exchange which is across the street in Chetwyn Park (look for Rail Trail sign.)
Exchange #4 (Hugh Moore Park, Easton)
- Route 22 to 25th Street Exit (Easton). Turn right off of exit. Go through two traffic lights (crossing over William Penn Highway and Freemansburg Ave.) and go under bridge.
- Turn right onto Lehigh Drive. Go about half mile then turn right at park entrance, over the bridge (there will be signs).
- At the end of the bridge, turn left into parking area. The exchange is to the right of the bridge.
Finish (Riverside Park, Easton)
- Route 22 to 4th Street Exit (last exit in PA). Follow 4th Street straight ahead several blocks.
- Turn left at light onto Northampton Street.
- Follow Northampton Street around Center Square, and turn left onto Larry Holmes Drive.
- Go through the light at Northampton Street and stay in the left lane.
- Immediately after Northampton Street, turn left to park in the Wolf Building parking lot.
- Riverside Park is across the street from the Wolf Building parking lot.
