Countdown to the Marathon:

Goodies & Awards
All runners will receive a Dri-Balance™ (technical fabric, moisture wicking technology)  runner’s shirt in their race packet.  Shirts are unisex sizing. Marathon and Half Marathon finishers will receive a finisher’s award at the finish line.

The top male and female finishers in the Marathon and Half Marathon will receive an award.  Awards will be presented to the top three finishers in each race category for the Marathon, Relay and Half Marathon.

Top Fundraisers
The top Marathon, Relay Team, Half Marathon or 5K Walk fundraiser will receive a 18 by 24 custom framed and matted poster and additional prizes.  Fundraising closes September 30 and the top fundraiser will be notified and announced through email.  Your company, friends and family can support Via and you by making contributions in your name on the Friends & Family page.

Any individual raising over $500 or team raising over $1,500 will receive a 8.25 wide by 9.75 custom framed and matted poster.  These high-quality, custom framed commemorative pieces honors your fundraising in this year’s event.  You may have this piece customized at no cost.  Your company, friends and family can support Via and you by making contributions in your name on the Friends & Family  page.

Win a Limo for Race Day
The team or individual who raises the most money by midnight (as recorded in your Fundraising Headquarters) on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 will win free limo transportation on race day.  Winners will be notified on Wednesday, September 5, 2012.

Awards Ceremony & Finish Festival
We will have a rolling awards ceremony at the Finish Festival from the band shell.  Awards will be available for pick-up on race day at the Finish Festival or at Via of the Lehigh Valley’s main office on designated days following race day (Driving Directions).  Times and winners will be posted on the Results page, within 72 hours following the race, serving as official verification for Boston Marathon qualifiers.

Relay Team Categories Via Cup (employees or volunteers of same township, city borough, etc.  I.E. Police, Fire, Parks EMS, etc.) College Cup Challenge (affiliated with same college or university) Corporate Cup - Men’s (all employed by the same company) Corporate Cup - Women’s (all employed by the same company) Corporate Cup - Mixed (all employed by the same company, at least 2 women) Men’s Open (all ages must sum below 200 years) Men’s Masters (all ages must sum between 200- 250 years) Men’s Super Masters (all ages must sum over 250 years) Women’s Open (all ages must sum below 200 years) Women’s Masters (all ages must sum between 200 - 250 years) Women’s Super masters (all ages must sum over 250 years) Mixed Open (all ages must sum below 200 years, at least 2 women) Mixed Masters (all ages must sum between 200- 250 years, at least 2 women) Mixed Super Masters (all ages must sum over 250 years, at least 2 women)

The LVHN Marathon raises money for Via of the Lehigh Valley’s services for children and adults with disabilities like autism, cerebral palsy and Down syndrome.
