Induction Criteria
All Nominees Require a Completed LVHSB Hall of Fame Nomination Form
Forms are available at www.vianet.org/hallof fame
Nominations will be solicited from the greater Lehigh Valley community.
Nominations for any induction year are due by December 31st of the prior year (i.e. for March 2009 induction, nominations are due by December 31, 2008).
Lehigh Valley High School Basketball Player
Graduated from a high school within Lehigh, Northampton, Carbon or Monroe Counties in Pennsylvania and Warren County, New Jersey.
Graduated at least ten (10) years ago. Exceptions will be made in certain situations deemed appropriate by the nominating committee.
Made significant contributions to greater Lehigh Valley high school basketball.
Has proven to be a person of good character and citizenship.
Made valuable contributions to his/her team.
Lehigh Valley High School Basketball Coach
Coached basketball in the greater Lehigh Valley area at least five (5) years.
Retired from coaching basketball at least five (5) years.
Proven to be a person of good character and citizenship and is a positive role model, worthy of being emulated by current and future students.
Made significant contributions to greater Lehigh Valley high school basketball.
Lehigh Valley High School Basketball Contributors
Consideration will be given to anyone who has made significant contributions to greater Lehigh Valley high school basketball.
Proven to be a person of good character and citizenship.
Number of Inductees Annually
No less than 1 and no more than 6 persons will be inducted in any one year.
Inductees in any one year may be a combination of players, coaches or contributors.
Nomination/Selection Procedures
All nominations will be reviewed by the Hall of Fame Nomination Committee by January 31st of the induction year and the nomination field reduced to 10 eligible candidates.
The Selection Committee members will then be asked to choose no less than one and no more than six player/coach/contributor nominees from the list of eligible inductees for enshrinement.
All nominees must have at least 66% of all votes to be inducted.
Revocation Procedure
Removal from the Hall of Fame shall be on a 90% vote at the discretion of the Hall of Fame Nomination/Selection Committees.
Hall of Fame members must be positive role models, worthy of being emulated by current and future students. It is the Hall of Fame committee’s responsibility to insure all Hall of Fame members maintain the appropriate standards set forth by the LVHSB Hall of Fame.
